Germination guide
Aesculus flava seeds will usually germinate in 7 days, if conditions are favourable. Normally germinates in the dark. Sow seeds about 15mm deep in a rich, well drained seed sowing mix at about 10°C.

Soak stored seeds before sowing. Sow with scar down. Best sown in situ as a long, fragile, taproot grows quickly. Temperature necessary for germination is reduced from 18°C to 7°C by overwintering (cold stratification)
