Caesalpinia gilliesii seeds will usually germinate in 10 days, even under good conditions germination may be erratic. Normally germinates in the dark. Sow seeds about 5mm deep in a free draining seed sowing mix at about 25°C.
Soak in warm water, which should be changed daily. Most seeds swell up when they are soaked, those that do should be sown immediately. Seeds that don't swell can be gently scarified.
Scarification before soaking is recommended. Scratch the seed-coat with sand-paper, nail file (or anything abrasive) to let water penetrate.
