Cassia brewsteri seeds will usually germinate in 7-90 days. Sow seeds about 13mm deep in a Well drained seed sowing mix at about 22°C.
Scarification: Seeds have a hard seed coat that is impermeable to water, and which prevents the seed from imbibing. Large seeds can be chipped with a chizel, knife or rasp. Smaller seeds may be scraped on sandpaper, clipped with nail clippers or pricked with a needle. Try to do this on the side away from the hilum. After scarification seeds are usually soaked in warm water, which should be changed daily. Most seeds swell up when they are soaked, those that do should be sown immediately.
